Roderick James Duff

Paul says:- "This is Roderick James Duff, my Grandad, who lived at 35 Bank Street. [picture #1158] He was born in 1928. He would have been around 18 at this time. He did his National Service with the Seaforth Highlanders, The Highland Brigade."

I remember Derry Duff very well also his sister Jessie. At that time I lived at no 5 Duke Street
which is just round the corner. I often wondered what became of the Duffs. Interesting to know that he was Paul's grandad.

My name is Roderick Alistair Buchanan Duff DOB 19 10 63. My great great great grandfather was James Duff dob 1795 dod 1891 - Brass founder/Provest. His father was James Duff, a farmer, 1766 to 1838.

Hi Iris, my grandfather John MacDonald, cousin Tom Campbell MacDonald, mother Ina Taylor(nee MacDonald), sister Emily and brother Bill also lived at 5 Duke Street up until late 1934, not sure if my father Vic Taylor did as he served in the Royal Marines on various Royal Navy ships including HMS Cardiff during both world wars and I understand the ships often visited the area. I do not know your age but have seen some of your photographs on the site and wonder if you were around and can remember my family before they left Cromarty?
