Northern Lights (aurora borealis) over the Firth
Photographs taken on the evening of November 20th, as the northern lights lit up the night sky over the Cromarty Firth. picture #592 shows another set.

Both my husband and myself saw these same lights along the Moray coast at Portknockie it seemed at the time that the whole of the Moray Firth had a curtain of beautiful light as far as you could see. Fantastic!
