Lived near Epsom by the racecourse. Always had a motorbike and took Nell in sidecar. Used to race at Brooklands and TT, with Wallie as his mechanic. Always swept his own chimney by dropping a rope down, tying it to a bush, and pulling it up.
NOTE: Christened Varney, but brother Wallace christened as Verney instead, which seems to have stuck.
