Wood Turner & Engraver
A member of the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB) and American Association of Woodturners (AAW)
Founder member of the Highland Woodturners, based at Munlochy
I turn a wide range of Wood ware, Boxes, Bowls, specialising in Hand Thread Chasing. Woods used are all hardwoods, locally sourced in the Highlands of Scotland and include Ash, Beech, Spalted Beech, Birch, Silver Birch, Cherry, Elm, Wych Elm, Burr Elm, which has a character all of it’s own, Sycamore, Yew , Lime, and many more.
I can never reproduce a piece exactly because all my work is hand-made and each piece of wood is unique. However, if there is something you particularly like then contact me.
Engraving
Engraving is done by Hand, a hobby which I have been doing for 25 years. Scenes are far ranging which the customer can decide; these are engraved onto Glass, Mirrors, Brass and Copper etc. Mirrors give a better perspective of the design.
Demonstrations
A regular demonstrator at the BlackIsle Woodturning Centre & available for demonstrations to any interested parties.
The demonstrations can be tailored to suit different subjects and audiences.
