Welcome to Black Isle Info
Although only in its first few days of life, and still with many holes to fill in, you'll find a wide variety of information about the area, its people and businesses here. The menu at the top of each page takes you to the main sections of the site.
- This 'Welcome' page will carry updates about the site and local news.
- The 'People 2 People' section contains a discussion forum and will eventually have directory of local people, both living here and abroad. It is also intended that facilities will be created for families to create their own webpages.
- 'Area Information' section has maps and transport details. It also contains a description of Cromarty, Fortrose, Avoch and other local towns, but will be expanded to hold information useful to visitors such as the activities available, wildlife, climate and culture.
- A searchable directory of businesses and community organisations is the feature of the 'Directory' section. This will be a useful feature for locals as well as prospective visitors, containing contact details, photos and information about organisations from local B&Bs to the schools or doctor's surgeries.
- The 'Events' section is a Local Diary, updateable by anyone with the password, which will contain everyday information such as the date of the next Community Council meeting, or the music playing in the local pub next Friday.
- On The Links Page you can check tomorrow's weather or tonights TV listings. Suggestions for links to add should be sent to the email address below.
- The 'Join Black-Isle.Info' section contains information about how to have your business or organisation listed on the site, and will have a password protected area which will host a discussion forum and contain a library of downloadable documents of use to the membership.
We hope you find the site interesting, useful and informative, and would be delighted to hear your comments or suggestions.
