The Black Isle Filling Station was started to meet the needs of local Christians, many of whom travel some distance to worship on a Sunday for various reasons. We first met in Fortrose Town Hall in early 2015 but since August 2016, we have been meeting in the Gordon Memorial Hall in Rosemarkie, a more modern, attractive venue that meets our needs.
Our branch has, perhaps, a more senior average age than others, and the worship music has a more Celtic/acoustic feel to it. With many coming from traditional churches, we try to include older hymns and songs, as well as newer ones. We seek to respond to the Holy Spirit – sometimes it is an awesome silence, sometimes singing with the Spirit – whatever happens, it’s always an adventure!
